A day without me review3/1/2023 Take the first left after the church and head into the backyard, and go to the pool.Take a right onto the sidewalk and go all the way up it until you pass a church.Once it pops exit the backyard and go to the side walk again. Get close to the pool and a trophy will pop. Go into the backyard by way of the side of the house. Then turn left and go down the sidewalk until you are at your house again.Once at the top of the house move left and go back down over the hopscotch squares to the side walk (you don’t have to complete hopscotch puzzle again.) Once the red flowers bloom hug the wall of the grey roofed house and move upwards, you wont be able to see yourself while doing so.Then quickly touch kids carousel and trampoline for a trophy. Continue upwards and go between the first houses to pick up the soccer ball in the back yard, and have it go down the child’s slide.Take a left into the neighbours drive way with the hopscotch squares in it, then move on the squares in this order – 9,6,3,6,9,6 then 9,6,9,3,9,6 on the second set.Head outside through the front door, and after the cutscene head up the side walk.Once the trophy pops take all the items off the pentagram.and finally place yourself on the pentagram.then go to the garage, and pick the saw,.pick up the fruit platter off the counter in the kitchen,.then the gold crown from bottom right corner,.Pick up the black chair and place on pentagram (will have done it correctly if the chair starts spraying blood),.Now move downstairs for another puzzle.Bottom left ,then middle right, then top left, then top right and then final one. Interact with the laptop and enter 1985 for the password. Use the box to get the key on the bookshelf, leave the room and go to the bottom door.Pick up the key on the dresser, leave the room and go up into the next room.Start the game, you will here a annoying sound, don’t worry game isn’t broken. Text Walkthrough:Īlways use to run to make the plat quicker interacts with objects The plat can be earned well before the end of the actual game, but I do suggest playing till the end to figure out what happened. The game starts out innocent enough, then takes a hard left into “ what the hell” is this game territory. No matter how intriguing the mystery at its core is, nothing can make up for the fact A Day Without Me fails so utterly at everything else, and that’s enough to make the game an easy skip.ĬhiliDog Interactive provided us with an A Day Without Me Xbox One code for review purposes.Greetings comrades and welcome to the A Day Without Me trophy guide!įrom Gamecom Team & ChiliDog Interactive A Day Without Me is a walking sim/action game where your character tries to figure out what happened. Putting your character in an empty neighbourhood and asking you to figure out what happened could’ve made for an engaging mystery.īut that would’ve required the game being halfway decent or competent, which it’s not. To give A Day Without Me some credit – very, very limited credit – it’s got some interesting ideas. The game can tell you to explore your neighbourhood, for example, but with no minimap to guide you and not much in the way of memorable signposts, this means you just wander around until something happens – that something usually being death, since it’s easy to wander into a puzzle without even being aware of it. In fact, even when the game tells you what your objective is, it’s still not always totally clear. While the is relatively generous in terms of where it dumps you back, it still means you do the same puzzles over, and over, and over again, each time hoping you’ll figure out exactly what it is that A Day Without Me wants you to do. On top of that, you usually die if you fail at a puzzle. Some – and by that I mean the vast majority – are just plain nonsensical, requiring absurd leaps in logic, if not outright trial and error-based guesswork. Some would be easy, if it weren’t for the fact that the game’s controls are terrible and require the tiniest bit of precision imaginable. Some are absurdly easy, to the point you wonder why they were even included. The interesting thing about A Day Without Me is that its puzzles fail to be engaging in a wide variety of ways. A Day Without Me is what happens when developers create a puzzle game, but forget to ensure any of the puzzles make sense.Īctually, that’s not entirely fair. I’ve certainly played puzzle games where I didn’t get the internal logic – The Witness, I’m still looking in your direction, six years after the fact – but at the very least I could appreciate that they clearly had internal logic. I don’t think I’ve ever played a puzzle game that was as impenetrable as A Day Without Me.
